Note from Pauline Durban, Founder and President of Covered Perfectly - This is Shelbee's first review for us. I was happy that she chose the Leisure Suit. Our customers love it and Shelbee did too! She what she has to say.
Over to Shelbee...
As a woman who loves all things fashion related – clothes, shoes, accessories, and everything in between – I never have any problems finding pieces that I absolutely adore and must have whenever I go shopping. However, for some reason, the essentials seem to trouble me…underwear, bras, and loungewear. So when I discover something fabulous in the categories of underwear, bras, and loungewear, it makes me a very happy woman indeed.
When Pauline of Covered Perfectly reached out to me to review one of her products, I was super excited to try the V Neck Leisure Suit. If you are not familiar with Covered Perfectly, it is a small, woman-owned company with the sole purpose of providing flattering, comfortable clothing for women over 50. In May of 2013, at the age of 57, founder Pauline Durban launched her company with the purpose of designing women’s fashion with a focus on soft fabrics that are luxurious and comfortable. The staple fabric used throughout the Covered Perfectly Collection is MicroModal which is lightweight and breathable, a necessity for those dreaded heat flashes that plague many of us in midlife.
I chose the V Neck Leisure Suit in Olive and I absolutely adore the color! My summer go-to slides in leopard and floral were the perfect match with this cute two piece suit for hanging in my back yard with a coffee and a book.
This two piece Leisure Suit is constructed from a 96% MicroModal/6% Spandex blend. Let me tell you how amazing this fabric is…when I took it out of the package, it had a few wrinkles which very quickly fell right out, making it perfect for travel. Soft is simply an understatement…it is softer than velvet and lighter than cotton. I went to bed last night wearing both pieces. I had the air conditioner on the coldest setting and the cyclone fan on high and when I woke around 11:00 p.m. in the midst of one of my worst heat flashes ever, I realized that the fabric was literally pulling the moisture right off my skin. Other than having to wipe away the sweat that had pooled around my neck, I managed to survive said heat flash without having to entirely remove my clothing.
Not only is the fabric so, so great, it is comfortable and the cut is super flattering. I love the tunic length of the top with the asymmetrical hem and the V neck. The elastic waistband on the pants makes them perfect for lounging. I also like that the pants are cropped and not too baggy. I hate when I get all tangled up in too baggy loungewear. You know what I’m talking about, right? If your loungewear is too loose and oversized, it gets all twisted around your body when you shift in bed or snuggle up on the couch. It makes me feel all claustrophobic when my clothes start to strangle me! This leisure suit does not do that…it very much lives up to the name of Covered Perfectly.
This two piece Leisure Suit is also available in Black and Ink Blue. I may need to be adding those colors to my loungewear arsenal soon. Because of the breathability and lightweight nature of the fabric, this leisure suit is perfect for all year wear. And I am perfectly covered enough to comfortably sit on my front porch or in my back yard wearing it. If you prefer a scoop neck over a V neck, the same three colors are available in the scoop neck version.
Pauline has generously offered my readers a discount of 20% off 1 or 2 items by using coupon code MM20 at checkout. Or you can take advantage of the “Buy 2, Get the 3rd item Free” Special (only one discount is available per order). Also, keep in mind that by purchasing from Covered Perfectly, not only are you getting high quality, comfortable, flattering pieces, but you are also supporting an independently female-owned small business. And that is a win-win situation for everyone!
I am only now just discovering how much I do like to look put together even when lounging around my house. And I am really starting to up my loungewear game lately! What do you wear for just lounging around?
Lounging on the edge,
